The news follows complaints from three states by AGs who claimed the ads on Craigslist are nothing short of sexual solicitations, and a way for illegal prostitution to flourish.

The Illinois Attorney General, Lisa Madigan, announced today that Craigslist will soon be getting rid of its “erotic services ads”, replacing them instead with a new adult section.

Craigslist will not offer an automatic approval process, as was used in the past.

An employee must review the new ads before they are posted, and all such adult ads will expire every seven days.
